I Survived a Crazy Week!

I thought when school was winding down for the year that all of the parental duties would wind down too! But I was so wrong! This past week, it has been crazy busy for me...and my poor blog has been neglected :-(

We have had a major project due (not a proud Mommy moment here as Madison left it to the very last possible moment and I refused to help out alot because I wanted her to learn how to budget her time - all year long I have stepped in to help her and I swore the last time, it would indeed be the last time...so there was alot of tears and grumpiness on her part!). I also whipped up 3 very simple scrapbooks for each of the teachers, made cards and bought the gift certificates; someone remind me again why I volunteered to be the parent coordinator??? And I was baking and cooking all week for the endless parties, it seems???

Oh and did I mention in there I got a root canal? Yup! I was eating nuts last weekend with Danielle and heard a crack. Then my bottom tooth started to throb and it got worse and worse and worse. Did I mention I have not been to a dentist dentist in over 6 years? So I managed to get into the guy that I was supposed to go to...the guy that my periodontist referred me to. I thought I could handle the pain until Thursday but I seriously found it unbearable and I can take alot. Instead of a filling, we ended up doing a root canal at my persistance and it turned out to be the right thing for me!

And now school is over but we are working like dogs today to finish the play centre...as Danielle's birthday party is tomorrow! Yikes! Stay tuned!

The template for the popcorn box can be found here. (Thank you to K. Rebecca Oehlers!) And I just had to add the fun pinwheels - don't they put a smile on your face?

Supplies: American Crafts (pattern paper for popcorn box and pinwheels); ribbon (source unknown); Spellbinders (butterflies and bird die cuts); Heidi Swapp (orange brad in pinwheel); Bazzill (white brads in pinwheel).

Craft DIY Part Deux

Here is the second part of my reveal at Scrap Shotz. It was so easy to make projects with the June American Crafts Craft line at Scrap Shotz.

These pictures of Madison just crack me up so much! I don't know exactly what Madison was thinking but yes a sparkler sparkles! She was completely taken off guard by the sparkler and the crackling sound! We had fun eating the cake afterwards and laughed at her reaction! All supplies are from the June kit! The journaling is tucked behind the main picture and was completed on the journal spot from the American Crafts remarks.

Right now, I am just loving Danielle being 4...and she will only be 4 for a few more weeks! She is just a delight to be around...and she lets me take her picture all the time! The funky polka dot ribbon is also American Crafts. The journaling was completed in a circle in Word.

Here are pictures from Danielle's 4th birthday celebrated with us. She did not want a cake; she wanted a pie - I remember it so vividly because she was so adamant about it. The tab was made from the Stampin' Up punch. There was a bit of stitching to hold the journaling. I used my coluzzle to make the scallop edge border. And I had lots of fun using the BG bling to add "sprinkles" to the cupcake chipboard pieces.

Craft DIY

June's kit at Scrap Shotz is the fabulous American Crafts Craft line. I loved it! It was fun; it was sassy; it was versatile; it was amazing! Here are some of my projects...

Here is a quick party hat invitation I made - I think I'll make a few more for Danielle's upcoming birthday - yikes! 5 years old!!! I added the Cuttlebug crown die and embossing folder and the American Crafts Remarks alphas to the kit supplies.

As with the party invitation, I added the Cuttlebug die and embossing folder and the American Crafts Remarks alphas to the placecards.

This was such a fun layout to create - my favorite piece of pattern paper in the kit was this birdie/chickie paper. It is colourful; it is fun; it is so perfect for my pictures! LOL I added some embroidery floss to the centres of the buttons to look sewn in. As well, I had cut the birdies and popped them up on the fences.

One of my all time favorite shots of Danielle...while it may not be technically perfect, it completely captures her spirit. I added the Stampin' Up label punch and some Making Memories mini alphas. For the journaling, I printed it on the back of the double-sided pattern paper. I cut out the lines in the journaling spots and adhered the journaling to the back. Oh yes, I used my circle punches to cut a few circles and popped them up on the birdie paper.

Thanks so much for dropping by! I'll post the rest of the projects for the June reveal tomorrow!
